Hello, I’m Qazi Fazli Azeem
Qazi Fazli Azeem did his MFA in Design from the Dynamic Media Institute at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (Boston USA) in 2014, through the US State Department’s Fulbright Scholarship. For his thesis, he interviewed ed-tech pioneers Lynda Weinman (founder of lynda.com who sold her company later for over a billion USD to Linkedin), Salman Khan (Founder of Khanacademy.com) and even educationist and Hollywood film director M. Knight Shyamalan. His capstone project and thesis research was done under LEGO Professor Mitch Resnick of the Lifelong Learning Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab (who is famous for creating SCRATCH visual programming language for children and LEGO Mindstorms Robotics kits).
His ed-tech graduate startup co-founders were from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and through them, they won a residency at the Harvard Innovation Lab, got feedback from Jack Dorsey (founder of Twitter), became semi-finalists in the MIT $100k Entrepreneurship competition and exhibited their prototype at the US Department of Education’s 2014 Datapalooza in Washington DC where they were invited by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).
After returning to Pakistan in 2014, he founded the Design department at the Karachi Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship and got the NOC to run the program from the HEC for their Bachelors of Design program. In 2019, he joined the Media Science Department at SZABIST University Karachi Campus and became the Program Manager of their HEC recognized masters programs in media science (MMS) and advertising (MOA).
